Setup Guide

This should take no longer than 30 minutes

Please do not contact the Service Desk for help until you have follow these steps.


Please complete your Laptop Setup before following directives for known issues. If you experience problems with your desktop apps remember you can always use web applications on Office.com.

This setup guide will assist you with the steps you need to follow to quickly restore access to your emails, contacts and calendars as well as access to files and meetings on your mobile device.

  • Please note the your network (login) ID will change from username@cdcgroup.com to username@bii.co.uk.

  • Before you start, please check your phone has more than 50% battery and is connected to Wi-Fi.

Company Portal app

1. Open the Company Portal app (Comp Portal). If you see the screen with the 'Sign in' button follow Steps 2 and 3. If Company Portal is already signed in, go to Step 4.

2. If you are signed in already, skip this step.
If you are prompted to sign in, please check if the auto-filled '
Sign in' email address is the new login ID format username@bii.co.uk and correct if necessary. Tap the 'Next' button, enter your password and tap 'Sign in'.

3. Tap on the Device tab in the lower left side of the screen and then tap 'Check status'.

The process might take a few minutes to complete. If the check fails, please retry until it succeeds. It will usually complete within a couple of minutes. You should try at least 3 times before calling the service desk.

4. Select the device you are using

5. If you see the message ‘device not registered’, click the notifications tab at the bottom

You will either be directed to:

a. ‘Register this device for full access’ – click this and sign in when prompted

b. You will be asked to sign in

If device registration is successful, you can go back to 'Check Status'.

6. If Company Portal is still signed in, tap on your profile - this will appear as your picture or initials icon in the top right corner - and check if the signed in account is your username@bii.co.uk account. If the signed in account is showing as username@cdcgroup.com press 'Done', tap on 'Check status' and re-check the signed in account after the check status has completed.

Outlook and OneDrive apps

Open the Outlook app. You may see one of the follow 2 scenarios:

  1. If you see the '1 Account Found' screen tap on the 'Add Account' button and then on the 'Add Another Account' screen tap 'Maybe Later'.

2. If you see your emails and a prompt to 'Sign in', don’t click sign in to your Office 365 account.

Ignore this prompt and tap on the round icon next to Inbox which could have your initials or your photo.

Then tap on the cog icon in the bottom left corner to enter the Outlook settings and select your Office 365 account under Email Accounts which will still show your username@cdcgroup.com email address.

3. Now, follow the instruction on your phone.

Scroll down to the end of the page and select 'Delete Account' and confirm with 'Delete' on the next prompt. You will then be able to follow Step 1 to add your account with the correct username@bii.co.uk email address.

4. After your username@bii.co.uk email account is added, your username@bii.co.uk OneDrive account will be added to Outlook at the same time. Select the username@cdcgroup.com OneDrive Storage Account and tap 'Delete Account' and confirm 'Delete' on the next prompt.

5. Open OneDrive app. You will see a prompt 'Sign in again to get access', select 'Sign out'.

Close and re-open OneDrive app and sign in with your username@bii.co.uk login ID and password.

If you are already signed in, click the initials log, check it says 'BII' and confirm signed in as username@bii.co.uk

Word, Excel, PowerPoint apps

1. Before you sign into Word, Excel or PowerPoint, please go to Settings on your device and scroll down to Word settings.

2. In Word settings scroll down and select 'Reset Word', then on the next screen select 'Delete Sign-In Credentials'.

Close all Office applications by double-tapping the home button and swiping up.

3. You can then open Word, Excel and PowerPoint and sign back in with your username@bii.co.uk email address.

Now all other office applications should now be aligned to your bii.co.uk account. If they are not, repeat steps above for Excel and PowerPoint.

Teams app

1. Open Teams and you if you are prompted to sign in with your username@bii.co.uk follow the sign in process. If you are still signed in please go to Step 2.

2. If you are still signed in and your password is requested, click cancel. You may loop between Teams and your Authenticator App. If it does this, you will get an option to Sign Out. Click this. If the looping continues, force close the Teams app (double click home button and swipe up).


3. Check if the signed in account is your username@bii.co.uk account by tapping on the round icon in the top left corner with your initials or your photo and then tap on your name.

4. If you are signed in with your username@cdcgroup.com account press the 'X' in the top left corner and select Settings, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Sign out' and then return to Step 1.
